Lazy Days

Last weekend I spent some time doing nothing.

I used to hate doing nothing, I feel like today everyone needs to be doing something at all times because if you’re not doing something then you’re being lazy.

But sometimes you just need to do nothing. But only sometimes, if you do it too much then you will get bored, which is something that I discovered back in 2009 when I was struggling to find things to keep myself occupied, according to my Facebook memories.

Anyway, since I finished work placement, I have been keeping myself busy by seeing my friends, my boyfriend, starting my new website, making YouTube videos, selling on eBay…basically just anything I can do to be a little bit productive during the day I have been doing it.

Which has been great, I have really enjoyed doing things because it makes me feel productive and that I have accomplished something rather than just sitting at home and watching Netflix all day.

But last weekend, that’s what I did.

It started on Friday, I had plans with my friends that night but nothing special planned during the day so I just binge-watched Gilmore Girls on Netflix. It was wonderful.

The lazy weekend continued on Saturday when my friends and I spent the day in my room, eating pizza and watching Jenna Marbles and Shane Dawson on YouTube.

I didn’t feel guilty at all. Which, normally I would, I would feel like I had to do something productive those days to make it feel like the day was worthwhile. But just chilling, by myself and with my friends is exactly what I needed.

It was so great just to spend a couple of days not focusing on making videos or travelling or rushing around doing something, just to stop and just not do anything in particular, and to feel good knowing there was nothing pressing that I actually had to do.

I guess this is the kind of thing you only really appreciate as an adult because as you get older you have more responsibility and more things to do. As a kid, doing nothing is something you end up doing a lot when not at school or unemployed. I definitely felt that and knew quickly that I needed to pick up some hobbies lol.

But every now and then, it feels good just to have a lazy day.  I guess that’s all I wanted to share. Nothing really new or particularly exciting, just something I appreciated.

Now it’s time to go back to the daily grind.

My Fangirl Timeline!

In today’s video I decided to share my fangirl timeline/journey. What I mean by that is a timeline of all the things I have been obsessed with and have made me a fangirl.

It’s not a definite list of all the things that I have loved the past few years but it definitely covers quite a lot of the big ones.

And so I hope you enjoy the video, it’s just a little bit of fun and interesting to look at all of the things I have been interested in the past few years and makes me wonder what my next big “thing” will be that I fangirl over. I’ll keep you posted on that one.

The Daily Vlog Struggle | 7th August 2018

Decided to film a little vlog yesterday while I was trying to figure out how to make up for missing a day of VEDA.

I’m really glad that YouTube is not a full-time job for me because the pressure to deliver like this as just a hobby is stressful enough for me.

But everything is fine, I was able to get two videos posted yesterday for VEDA and we are back on track!

Category Is: Pride Realness

Recently I have been watching some beauty gurus on YouTube and it has inspired me to be a little more creative with my makeup. Normally when I go out I stick to a neutral or smokey eye but after watching these YouTubers create some wild and glamorous looks I thought I would also give it a shot.

Luckily for me, I had the perfect excuse for going a bit OTT with the makeup: PRIDE!

This past week has been pride week and during the week I had some drag queen shows to go to, which meant I had three different opportunities to create three different looks.

I love going to drag queen shows because everyone dresses up for them and everyone looks fabulous. And it’s the kind of thing you go to where everyone accepts you and is loving and openminded. It’s great.

So following the theme of drag shows and being fabulous here are the three looks that I created during pride!

The first look is something I have actually done before. It’s a dark gothic kind of look which was perfect for the first show I was going to, as I was going to be meeting Queen of Halloween Sharon Needles. The first time I created this look was back in February and I loved it. It’s something I’m not used to because it is so dark and normally having super dark eyes would scare me, but the blending out of eyeshadow really helps.

As for the lip colour, it was risky because I never do coloured lipstick either, but once I tried it for the first time I fell in love.

So overall a really successful look. And I actually have a YouTube video where I show you how it’s created so if you want to check it out the link is here.

The second show I was going to was Courtney Act and I wanted a fun makeup look for this one, so I decided to try recreating a NikkieTutorials makeup look.

This one was kind of scary at first because I had never done my makeup like this before or mixed bold colours together but I was really happy with the way that it turned out. I don’t know if I would ever wear another look like this out again but it was really fun.

If you guys want to know about how the process of this one went, it too is documented on my YouTube channel.

And finally, we have my most favourite look out of the three and that is my pride makeup! This is the makeup I wore during the pride parade and also to see Bianca Del Rio.

This makeup look was inspired by James Charles’s Coachella Makeup look and I was obsessed with how it turned out.

My main concerns about this makeup look were the colours not looking pigmented enough, and the eyeliner/glitter situation going horribly wrong. I normally don’t ever wing my eyeliner for a good reason, but I’m so proud of how even I got the wings looking. I was also glad that I managed to get the glitter on my eyes without getting it all over my bedroom floor.

I’m really glad the whole thing turned out well though and I had so much fun at pride. And once more of course, if you wanna know what pride was like I have a video for that too. 😛

Those were all my makeup looks for pride! I had so much fun creating them and also had an amazing time at all of the shows that I went to!

I hope to play around with makeup more in the future to see what else I can create. It’s not as scary as I thought it was, and if it doesn’t work out then at least you have makeup wipes to erase and start again!

But for right now, I feel like the best thing to do is let my skin rest after using so much makeup the past few days.

Let me know which makeup look is your favourite in the comments below!

My Belfast Pride | 4th August 2018

A vlog from pride this year!

I love going to pride because it’s so much fun and is filled with so much love! Last year, I was celebrating pride but missed the parade but this time I was able to make it for the whole thing and it was such a great day! So I hope you guys enjoy the little bit of insight to the day I was able to capture for you.

The Usual Thursdays | 2nd August 2018

A vlog from yesterday! Nothing too exciting just showing you what a usual Thursday is like for me.

As in I try and find something to do during the day and go to pole dancing in the evening.

It’s nice to have things that help you have some kind of routine when you aren’t in school or at work, and this summer pole dancing is it for me. I take classes every week and it means I at least have to leave the house on that one day. I try to leave my house more than that anyway, but you know this definitely helps that.

Aside from that, I also got to see my friend Megan again! I hadn’t seen her in a year because she’s been in Hong Kong for the past year so it was great to see her. I will definitely be making more plans to see her before she goes back to uni!

But until then, the next big thing on my agenda is Pride this Saturday, and you best believe there will be a vlog for that so stay tuned!
