Meet the Girlies of Girly Pop Island! | Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream

It has been a week since Tomodachi Life has launched on the Nintendo Switch and so I thought I would do a little video introducing you to the Miis on my island!

Originally, I was not going to base the Miis off people in my real life, but then I changed my mind because I wanted to see how everyone would get along or not get along in the game, plus it’s kind of nice to have some familiar faces around the island.

So far, we are starting humbly with 12 Miis but I am slowly going to expand. I think it’s important to give everyone enough time to bond. Now I have my core selection of people, I can really start being creative and add more fictional characters or celebrities or even original characters to the mix.

In terms of first opinions of the game, I am really enjoying it but people on Reddit have put the fear into me that I am going to burn out of the game too quickly so I am making an effort to play at my own pace, which does include only playing an hour or so a day. I don’t want to unlock and see everything within the first week.

That being said, the content so far has lacked a little for me. I am disappointed by how few items we can actually give our Miis and the furniture we can place outside. I hope the game gives updates in the future with some more options but I’m not even sure if that’s on the cards.

Still, it’s nice to have a new console game to enjoy as I feel like it’s been a while. Will probably post another few updates of my island on my YouTube channel as things progress but couldn’t see it being a real Let’s Play. Anyway, if you need me for the foreseeable future, just know I’m tending to the girlies of Girly Pop Island.

My Fitness Hobbies

Today I am answering a writing prompt but also sharing ways that I like to exercise. If you had asked me a few years ago about fun ways to exercise I would say there are none lol. I was very much not a fitness person at all growing up, PE was my worst subject because I could not find joy in cross-country running or hockey and still don’t so yeah. Fitness was just not something for me.

But one day my friends and I were having a sleepover and one of them said she had always wanted to try pole dancing and I liked the sound of that. So we decided to Google and sure enough there was a pole studio in town that we could go to and so we signed up on a whim.

Thinking back to those early days I remember I was nervous but I was glad I had a friend with me to get over the initial awkwardness. I think it also helped that our teacher was a first time teacher too so we could kind of grow with him. It definitely wasn’t easy in the beginning, as I had no body strength whatsoever but I was motivated to continue working on it. I knew from the first class this would be something I was going to stick at.
